PROFILE
Jill Johnson resides and paints in Cupertino, California. Originally from the Ringwood Lakes district of upstate New Jersey as well as historic Lancaster County Pennsylvania, her focus became antique art restoration, though her first love remains her fine art watercolors. A 'natural', she associated with M.Stewart Galleries in Pennsylvania right out of her student days until marriage brought her to California. Jill presents a collection of works reflecting these influences in her own unique style.
"My works reflect my appreciation for the natural world, it's abundance, variety, pattern and line. It's creatures inspire my creativity, complemented by glistening light, sinuous line, the serene interplay of mist and cloud. Works hint of humor and delight in little live things!"
"I love to convey mood. I can never resist suprising the viewer with generous details... Blending the precise, with soft effects to convey layers of depth on this flat surface intrigues me! As each painting evolves it provokes me to enhance the next!"
